Laggan Cottage
Part of the original brief from the customer who was also the interior designer:

"We understand that design has to work, but the look and feel of it is equally important. We don’t like ‘easy’ solutions, so we’re looking for someone who can think with us."

The project consisted of over ten different items of fitted and freestanding furniture ranging from a full kitchen down to small details such as bedside tables. The work was conducted over a period of 6 months both on site and in the workshop.
Customer Feedback:
"Deeside Timber Crafts are capable of crafting many beautiful items and I am thrilled with the final result of their work. A gentle approach to woodwork, treating wood with respect. Deeside Timber Crafts pay great attention to detail, assuring the cleanest finish."
The Design & Build Process:
We carried out surveys at the property for each of the various projects, modelled the space and designed the items so that we could discuss and modify with our customer if necessary. Once tweaks were made and the designs agreed on, we set to work.
The majority of the jobs we did for Laggan Cottage were built and pre-assembled in our workshop before being professionally spray painted by Kind Decor Services.
Details:
A minimalist design was carried through all the items and they were to have a built in look. The woodwork was scribed to match the walls to give a seamless quality.

The kitchen doors were made by laminating the engineered flooring to a plywood backing, and then applying a solid oak edge banding to the edges. The cabinets were made from birch plywood and stained to match the doors.

Elsewhere the cabinets and doors were all made from a high quality MDF and sprayed professionally by King Décor Services in Aberdeen.
Completion of Laggan Cottage:
The Laggan Cottage project was fantastic to be involved in. The challenge of bringing a designers ideas to life and meeting their meticulous quality standards and attention to detail was one we relished. The finished pieces are truly special and unique and help to make the house special. We love to work with customers who have clear ideas of what they are trying to achieve and helping them overcome challenges to make it a reality.

These photos and images give an insight to the process from 3D modelling to the installation to the finished product. Every effort goes in to the initial phase to ensure the decisions and details are made to make the installation in the home as quick and tidy as possible. Having said that, on this project there were new details or adaptations made once on site where necessary.
